Your Wunderlich Advantages
Our stylishly designed engine guard stands out compared to the original silver one due to its improved protection area and the fact that we offer it in black.
The functional design and constructive integration of our engine guard protect the engine case, oil pan, and manifold. It fits so closely around the unit that not only is the frontal attack surface optimized, but ground and lean angle clearance remains almost unchanged. The shape of the guard reduces the risk of unpleasant levering or snagging on terrain, whether from branches, rubble, or rocks. Openings ensure that collected water can drain freely after river crossings.
The angled impact plates deflect stones or foreign objects thrown up by the front wheel, significantly reducing the risk of damage to the manifolds and the engine. Another advantage of this engine guard is that it deflects splashing water downward, especially reducing thermal stress on the engine case, manifolds, and seals when the engine is hot.
The complex component shape and geometry are the result of optimizing material thickness and weight, while achieving high constructive component rigidity and mechanical stability. The result is a resilient, weight- and form-optimized engine guard that fits so closely around the unit that the design principle of "form follows function" becomes evident, best emphasizing the edge design in the adventure look.
The high-quality engine guard is solidly screwed on using precise mounting points already on the vehicle. External forces and moments are distributed to the mounts to reduce load and moment peaks. Vibrations are effectively absorbed. As typical for Wunderlich, attention was paid to good accessibility during maintenance work. The aluminium engine guard is corrosion-resistant and black coated. With Wunderlich brand logo.
